The Unquiet. Wheeeeeeee!

unquiet.jpg I’m looking forward to reading John Connolly’s The Unquiet. If you’ve read any of Connolly’s books you’ve probably been touched by that creepy and unnerving frisson of “otherness” so characteristically found in dark hallways, middle of the night creaks, and quiet mausoleums (although I’ve never been in a rowdy mausoleum, come to think of it).

Anyhow, if you get a chance, start with Every Dead Thing, which introduces Charlie Parker, an ex-policeman turned PI who must deal with what great Gothic writers call “that dang evilness.” Just don’t read it at night.
