It burns us (part II)

Awesome shot (thanks Adrien!) from NASA’s MODIS (Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) satellite, showing the fires in Idaho and Oregon. We had 11 straight days of 100+ degree weather in July so far, steady upper 90s conditions of mostly dry heat, sporadic thunderstorms in the mountains and very little rain overall. The perfect fire storm?
