ILA and ALA’s Loriene Roy

Loriene RoyI’m attending the 2007 Idaho Library Association in Nampa, ID, and the convention center is a-buzz with activity.

We were (I think) lucky enough to get none other than Loriene Roy, ALA president, to come and talk to us about her first 100 days in office. She also spoke about her presidential plans, her life as American Library Association president, and her organizational platform to enhance and support libraries and the folks that work in them.

In between sessions she chatted with library denizens, was enthusiastic about the stuff Idaho libraries are working on, and even had time to play a bit of Wii. I hope she gets to visit Idaho again–she rocks! Chi Meegwetch, Loriene!
