I’ll be visiting sunny and hot (low 90s for this week) Las Vegas for the LOEX of the West conference on June 5-7, held on the University Nevada, Las Vegas campus. By far one of my favorite conferences, LOEX has a mixture of creative and experimental sessions dealing with librarianship, teaching and instruction, technology use, media/information literacy and everything in between. Needless to say, I’m excited!
I’ll be staying in one of the dorm rooms on campus so the conference itself will be within walking distance, so checking out the campus, including the beautiful Lied Library (photo by sherrivokey) is doable. The famous strip is 2 miles away but I’m sure we’ll be treated to a taste of the shock and awe that is Las Vegas.
The good folks at UNLV have been prepping us on the goings on of the conference via Facebook, a blog, and the main conference website, which is great as relevant information is disseminated via “official” and organic channels. Wonder if there will be a Twitter channel as well?
Pictures will soon follow.
